Kitec Piping Replacement

Kitec Piping Replacement2025-02-12T19:18:14-03:30

Kitec is a type of piping that was previously used in the installation of hot water heating systems. Although many people have no trouble with the piping in their homes, some people have had issues with the piping and fittings leaking. There was a recall on the piping and fittings some time ago and many home insurance companies will not insure a home if Kitec piping is present.

Insurance and Real Estate companies recommend that if you have Kitec piping in your home, you have it replaced with PEX piping. Many homeowners find that they are unable to sell their homes if they have Kitec piping.

Cooper's installed a new oil tank at my residence. They provided a clear and competitive quote in a timely manner. All the staff were very professional and friendly. On installation day, the five man crew successfully removed and installed a new steel oil tank in the basement without any damage. The crew were a very happy bunch of guys who clearly enjoyed their jobs! Upon completion, one of the crew returned to my house to check that the freezer was plugged in!(it was) Thanks very much for a pro job! Strong recommendation++++ Thanks

We had a very positive experience with the Cooper's Heating Solutions . They were professional, careful, and responsible throughout the whole installation process. During the installation, they were very considerate and tried their best not to disturb our little baby’s rest, which we truly appreciated. After the work was completed, they cleaned up the site properly and left everything neat and tidy. Later, when we noticed some issues during the trial use of the product, the team responded seriously and took the time to help solve the problems. Overall, we are very satisfied with their service and would highly recommend the Cooper's Heating Solutions.

The team at Cooper’s was fantastic. They worked really quickly and converted us from oil to electric seamlessly. Christa in the office is amazing, so friendly and helpful. She guided us through the rebate program and handled all the intricacies, and made it really easy for us to avail of the program. We are delighted with our mini splits and electric boiler and have already seen a drop in our utility consumption. :)

Is replacing Kitec piping a big job?2023-05-25T14:05:16-02:30

Unfortunately, replacing Kitec piping is not a quick nor an inexpensive job. In most cases, walls, ceilings, and/or floors may require cutting to give access to the piping for replacement. New Pex piping and fittings need to be installed on all the heaters in the home. Given the issues that can develop with Kitec piping, the benefits can out way the costs for replacement.
